  Cromartie & Oliphant Join 1st FTCC Class

  Deja Cromartie & Khadija Oliphant signed National Letters of Intent joining the inaugural recruiting class in Fayetteville Tech's women's basketball program. Both Deja and Khadija are 4 year varsity players who graduated from SVHS with an 84-22 overall record.

  Our preseason calendar is now posted for September & October with open gyms beginning September 10 at 3:45-5:15 in the auxiliary gym.  Skills Sessions will begin September 17 with Groups A & B participating in 45 minute sessions. Check your calendar for your group's Date & Time! Tryouts this season begin November 2nd at 3:50 in the main gym.

There will be two special, shooting only Thursdays with opportunities to earn awards in 3 levels: 500 Made Shots/800 Made Shots/1000 Made Shots. Summer Skills are open to ALL rising 9-12th graders who will attend SVHS next year.

  Bell Becomes All Time Leading Scorer & McDonald's All American Nominee

  On January 30th, local McDonald's representatives recognized Chinyere Bell as one of a very select group of McDonald's All American Nominees. On the same night,  Chinyere scored 18 points giving her 1820 for her career, making her the school's All Time Leading Scorer.  The previous record holder, Samantha Ramirez went on to star at App State, winning the Southern Conference Player of the Year award as senior in 2011.  
   
  Bell Receives WRAL Extra Effort Award

  On January 7, Tom Suiter from WRAL visited South View during school and practice as he presented Chinyere Bell with the Extra Effort Award. The award presented monthly recognizes exceptional student-athletes from across the state. The video segment aired on WRAL news Jan 15 and can be seen online: Watch Video  
   
  2014-15 Varsity Roster Set

  The 2014-2015 edition of South View Lady Hoops is finalized and features 8 varsity returners plus two new juniors, a sophomore, and a freshman. The many hours of summer workouts, summer league, skills sessions, and open gyms have the team headed in the right direction. On November 8th the team will debut as they travel to Clinton High to play 3 teams in an all day jamboree.  Scheduled game times:8:50 (Main), 12:10 (Sampson Middle), 3:30(Aux).  
   
  Open Gym Begins

  Tigers Honored With Post-Season Awards

  Coaches of the Mid-South Conference recently selected All Conference Teams. South View had 3 players recognized: junior Chinyere Bell was named Conference Player of the Year, senior Jasmine Brown 1st Team All Conference, and sophomore Khadija Oliphant Honorable Mention. NCBCA All-District Honors were also announced.  Two Tigers were recognized among the top 10 players in District 4  which includes 46 Schools: Chinyere Bell was named 1st Team All-District and Jasmine Brown 2nd Team All-District.  
   
 

2013-14 Season Ends with 2 Championships

  Despite returning another young team, the Tigers finished the season 22-5 and claimed 2 Championships before ending the season in the state playoffs. In addition to winning the Holiday Classic, the Tigers overcame significant adversity to claim the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship with an overtime win at 71st. Special "Thanks!" to our only senior, Jasmine Brown for her dedication and hard work throughout her 4 year career at South View.   
   
  Undefeated Tigers (12-0) win Holiday Classic

  South View posted wins of 71-27 over Grays Creek, 67-56 over 71st, and 59-50 over EE Smith to move to 12-0 and win the Cumberland County Holiday Classic. Jasmine Brown & Chinyere Bell were both named to the Holiday Classic All Tournament team with Chinyere earning MVP. Tigers resume Mid-South Conference play Tuesday, Jan 7, at EE Smith.

  Bell Will Attend 16U USA Olympics Trials

  Recognized as one of the top underclassmen in the country, Tiger sophomore Chinyere Bell was selected to participate in the 16 & under US Olympics Team women's basketball trials. The tryouts will be held May 23-27 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the US Olympics Training Center with a final roster of 12 players to be selected.  
   
  South View Players Earn Notable Honors

  The MidSouth Conference selected 3 South View players to the All-Conference teams: sophomore Chinyere Bell (1st Team), junior Jasmine Brown (2nd Team), and senior Kanesha Lankford (Honorable Mention). The NCBCA All-District team included Chinyere Bell (1st Team) and Jasmine Brown (2nd team).   Chinyere Bell was also chosen by The Fayetteville Observer to their 1st Team All Region, and, Chinyere was named by NCPREPS to their 4A All-State team.  
   
  Tigers End State Playoff Run at 71st

  Featuring 6 freshmen and 2 sophomores, the youngest team in South View history finished the regular season in 2nd place advancing to the 2nd round of the state playoffs with an exciting comeback win over Jack Britt in Round 1. The team then fell to undefeated 71st (ranked 4th in the state) after leading by 4 after the 1st quarter. Thanks to all our fans, friends, family members and SVHS staff for all the support & help along the way.  A big "Thank You!" to our three outstanding seniors: Brii, Kanesha, and Jaylynne.  
   
  Playoffs Start & Bell Breaks School Records

   Falling to Britt in the 2nd round of the conference tournament, the Tigers (19-6) will represent the Mid-South Conference as the 3 seed following the tiebreaker and should be a #10 seed in the East State Playoffs bracket beginning Monday. Until conference tournaments conclude, the Tigers await their opponent for Monday, February 25th where they will definitely play away in Round 1.  This week, sophomore Chinyere Bell broke the school's single season Rebounding record of 292 (Sidney Cook) and now has 302 boards and counting. Chinyere will also finish with the highest Season Rebounds per game average in school history.  
   
  Tigers Finish 2nd Place in Holiday Classic

  During the Christmas break, the Tigers defeated Westover and Terry Sanford in the first 2 rounds of the CCS Holiday Classic Tournament. In the championship game, 71st pulled away in the 2nd half to win 65-55. Chinyere Bell & Jasmine Brown were selected to the All Tournament team.  The Tigers return to conference play Friday, January 4th as they host Jack Britt.

  The 2012-2013 edition of South View Lady Hoops features the youngest team in school history as six freshmen join six varsity returners. The many hours of summer workouts, summer league, skills sessions, and open gyms have the team headed in the right direction. On Novemeber 13th the team will debut as they host Overhills for a junior varsity and varsity scrimmage beginning at 5 PM.

  Numerous Season  Honors Announced

  The Mid-South Conference recently released its All-Conference Teams as voted on by the member coaches. South View placed 3 players on the 1st Team: Chinyere Bell, Sidney Cook. and Conference Player of the Year: Ciara Morris. NCBCA All-District Honors were also announced.  South View made history placing 3 players on the 1st Team for District 4 (46 Schools): Chinyere Bell and District Co-Players of the Year: Sidney Cook & Ciara Morris. Chinyere was one of only 2 freshmen to receive this honor among the 12 North Carolina districts.  The North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association named 15 players to its All-State team to include both Ciara and Sidney.  NCPreps.com released its All State Teams which included Sidney Cook for the second year in a row.  The Fayetteville Observer All Region team also included Sidney, Ciara, and Chinyere, with Sidney winning Region Player of the Year honors.  Sidney was also chosen by the NC Associated  Press for the AP All State team.  
   
  Season Ends at Final 4

  South View's magical season ended at 29-1 in the Regional Finals to Raleigh Millbrook 54-49. Millbrook (29-2) will face West Forsyth (28-3), who beat previously undefeated and #1 ranked Myers Park, for the state championship March 10th at NC State.  The 2nd ranked team in North Carolina, South View won the 2nd most games in school history breaking several team and individual records along the way, and ending two seasons with a 58-2 record. The team won regular season, holiday classic, conference tournament, and NCHSAA sectional championships.  The incredible support from fans, families, and friends was unmatched by any other school and was greatly appreciated throughout the year. Special "Thanks" to our four outstanding seniors, Rachel, Ciara, Talibah, and Sidney who graduate with a 103-14 overall record.  
   
  Tigers(25-0) Undefeated Conference CHAMPS!            February 18, 2012  
  For the 2nd year in a row, South View finished the regular season undefeated with a 67-35 win over 2nd place 71st. The following week, the Tigers opened both MId-South Conference Tournament games with runs of 13-0 (vs Smith) and 15-0 (vs Pine Forest) en route to their 2nd consecutive tournament championship. Sidney Cook was the Mid-South Tournament MVP & Ciara Morris joined her on the All Tournament team. State Playoff seeding will be announced this weekend with first round games beginning Monday, February 20th.

  For only the second time in school history, South View is represented on the very prestigious list of McDonald's All American nominees. For the 2012 all star game, South View seniors Sidney Cook & Ciara Morris are 2 of only 5 players to make the nomination list from the state of North Carolina.  The final rosters featuring 12 players from the East & 12 players from the West will be released February 9th on ESPN.  
   
  MJ Soffe Holiday Classic Champs

  Undefeated South View had wins over Westover (54-17), EE Smith (48-30), and Pine Forest (60-41) to capture the MJ Soffe Intensity Holiday Classic Championship at the Crown Arena.  Ciara Morris was Tournament MVP and Chinyere Bell joined her on the All Tournament Team.  The Tigers used outstanding defense all week to hold their opponents to an average 29 points.  Purnell Swett visits SVHS Tuesday, January 3 in a non-conference matchup.
